How Florida withholding is handled
Florida does not impose personal income tax. A Florida paycheck can still have federal withholding, FICA, insurance and retirement deductions.
A state withholding example
Entering $1,000 gross and a $100 after-tax deduction reduces the remaining paycheck by $100, without reducing the federal taxable wage base. Florida wage income-tax withholding remains $0.
