One workweek

A weekly baseline, not an eligibility decision

For the simple covered, nonexempt scenario, federal rules generally require at least one and a half times the regular rate after 40 hours in a workweek. State daily rules, contracts and special occupations can change what is due. This tool assumes the entered hourly rate is the regular rate.

A qualified overtime income-tax deduction does not make all overtime pay exempt from payroll withholding or FICA. Do not automatically remove overtime from taxable wages.
